Cylinder gas is a gas that is filled at very high pressure. The gas is filled in a cylinder, which is either a pressure vessel or a tank that can hold the gas without any leakage and without any wear and tear. Cylinder gas has found various applications in industry, as well as for household purposes.
Let us start with the applications for household purposes. Cylinder gas is used on a very large scale in houses. Normally, LPG or the Liquefied Petroleum Gas, propane, or butane is pumped into the cylinders. These gases help in burning the stove or other devices on which cooking, boiling and other activities are performed.
Next, cylinder gas is used on a very wide scale in the medical industry. Oxygen is put into the cylinders, which is then supplied to the patients who are in need of oxygen in hospitals. Sometimes, gases other than oxygen are also carried in the cylinders and are placed in the laboratories of medical institutions where medical students perform their experiments with the gases.
Apart from the medical industry, cylinder gases are very popular in the aircraft and aviation industries. Cylinder gas, mainly in the form of oxygen, is provided to the pilots of rockets and other human satellites which are launched by space institutes such as NASA, ISRO and others. Oxygen filled small-sized cylinders are also provided to divers who dive very deep into the sea and ocean for research purposes. Cylinder gas is also used for cutting and welding purposes.
These days, cylinder gas has found a number applications in the transport industry. Both public as well as private transport vehicles have started consuming cylinder gas on a very large scale. It has been found that if you run your vehicle on cylinder gas (whether LPG, CNG or some other one) instead of using traditional fuels such as petrol and diesel, you can save a lot of money and reduce air and noise pollution.
This has led everyone to consume these gases instead of traditional fuels. Also, the engine life of the vehicle is also enhanced. In spite of so many advantages, there is a disadvantage associated with this mode of transportation. If you are planning to go on a long drive and you are running your vehicle on cylinder gas, then probably you have to keep a spare cylinder in your car, because your car may run out of fuel anywhere. And unlike petrol and diesel, re-fuelling stations of cylinder gases are not easily available.
Apart from all the above applications, cylinder gases are also used in form of fire extinguishers. Fire extinguishing cylinders are very easily available in handy sizes and can be placed anywhere inside the premises, be it a house, a hospital, or an office, or any other place. In case there is any kind of fire, you just need to push the knob on the top of the cylinder and the fire extinguishing gases will come out of the cylinder. The news come from http://www.bossgoo.com
